When you inform people that you are pregnant, they will congratulate you. After a period of nine months they will joyfully come to you with an expectation of seeing that you have given birth to a child and that child is with you.
So in the season of birth they've come to you without pre-informing you and they've found you with a flat tummy yet no baby has been born. There was no misfortune along the way. What happened is that you just lied to cover up things. What a shame you have brought unto your dignified self by way of telling lies.
This is the reality of most people: They go about pretending to be who they are not and faking to have what they do not have. They have to always live in falsehood. They always have to go under cover. Some of these things happen due to these few non-exhaustive reasons :
1. The fear of rejection: Most people pretend in order to join a particular organization or relationship. They fear if they don't falsify to meet the standard of those circles they will not be accepted. The truth of the matter is that, anywhere you have to camouflage to be isn't meant for you, either entirely or at that given time. People did hurt others because they hid their real identities which were later revealed. Just present who you really are and when you don't meet up the set standard you work on yourself. Pretense in here is selfishness and it is evil.
2. People also go under cover to please people:
This is a wrong thing to do. People have incurred lots of debts because they have to borrow to please people who don't even notice them not to talk of prioritizing them. It is not wrong to make sacrifices in order to pursue what you desire but the sacrifices must be reasonable. Don't live a life of pretense in order to please people while you are losing yourself crying daily.
3. External pressure: This could be direct or indirect. Direct in the sense that, advice or influence from friends and relatives can cause one to go fakery. For indirect, by virtue of a person's own observations of people and from social media, he feels he's lagging behind or missing a lot so he becomes compelled to live something that is entirely different from his reality. This actually leads to a greater problem called the inferiority complex.
Most people live by ideology that says "fake it till you make it." That statement in itself is amoral. It is a wrong principle to live by. Imagine faking to be a swimmer/diver till you become you become one. It's like you want to die early. Or imagine even faking a military man until you become one. The day they will catch you... My God!
Faking what could be real will actually end up with you living a falsified life all days of your life and you will never come to the reality of who you are supposed to be. And there is no way you can live in peace.
One thing that is certain is that no matter how deep and great the cover up is, it is just a matter of time every false living will be exposed. It may be long, but surely it will be uncovered. Instead of living as who you are not, work on yourself thoroughly until you achieve that.
And importantly, just as time exposes pretense and evil, it also exposes good. You may be gifted, talented or skilled yet it looks as if no one recognizes you. You don't have to switch from that. Just keep building secretly and silently.
You must understand that the mere passage of time doesn't imply a result be produced. Keep building and growing. I assure you, the growth process is mostly not noticeable but painful. You don't back down or forgo it. Go through it. You'll bear good fruit in your season. Time will shine on you, smile at you and unveil you.
